I really like what our city (and Berlin started it, I think) is doing:
Instead of a Museum Day, have a Museum night! museums open until 4 a.m. and lots of activities surrounding it
I was lucky enough to be in Athens, Greece around 1999 or 2000 and happened to visit the Parthenon on their Museum Day, so admission was free, which is nice, because normally I think it’s about $40. Just total blind luck.
