The plight of the legally dead (but physically alive) in India has been taken up by - of course - a legally dead man. And now he's running for public office. Though apparently this isn't the first time. (People are usually declared dead by conniving relatives who want to claim their inheritance prematurely.) I wish him luck. If it works in Missouri it can work in India. |

I lived in Missouri at that time and voted for Mel. The reason most voted for him is because his wife was like Hilary and could do a better job than Ashcroft.
I live in St. Louis and the whole rest of the election was play off of people’s emotions.
The Republicans got the last laugh; Ashcroft then became the US Attorney General. :P And Mel’s wife lost in a special election two years later.
I also lived in MO at the time and voted for Mel… I didn’t and still don’t like what Ashcroft stands for.
I lived in Rolla, Mo. at the time and also voted for Mr. Carnahan. Oddly I was more comfortable voting for a deceased politician then a living, breathing politician. Seemed like less damage could be done that way.
Hey Ashcroft was scarier than the deadman .. !!
No, Janet Reno is a dead man :)
But wait, Ashcroft is dead, right? Or does he just look that way?
